Two Drivers Die in Head-On Crash on US-127 Near Isabella County After Wrong-Way Collision Early Sunday

ISABELLA COUNTY, MI — Two drivers were killed early Sunday in a head-on crash on northbound US-127 near East Vernon Road in Isabella County. Michigan State Police said the wreck happened around 3:05 a.m. and both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Wrong-Way Collision

Troopers said a Toyota 4Runner driven by a 24-year-old man from Ridgway, South Carolina, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it struck a Kia Stinger head-on. The Kia was driven by a 22-year-old man from Moss Point, Mississippi.

Alcohol And Speed

Investigators believe alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash. Police said the incident is still under investigation, and no further details were immediately released.

Highway Closed For Hours

Northbound US-127 was shut down for several hours while troopers examined the scene. The roadway has since reopened to traffic.

What Troopers Said

The crash was handled by Michigan State Police troopers from the Mt. Pleasant Post. Officials have not said whether any additional vehicles were involved.
