WISCONSIN, WI — A 41-year-old Arkansas man accused of taking a pregnant 16-year-old from Beaver Dam in 2025 has pleaded guilty in federal court to child sex crimes. Gary Day admitted to one count of enticing a minor into criminal sexual activity and one count of producing child sexual abuse material.

Four other charges were dropped under the plea agreement, and court records show no sentencing date has been set.

Separate Wisconsin Case

Day still faces charges in Dodge County Circuit Court, where prosecutors accuse him of two counts of abducting a child and two counts of exposing genitals or intimate parts to a child. He remains held on $2 million bail in that case.

A telephone scheduling conference is set for Aug. 10, according to the court record.

Amber Alert And Search

The case drew broad attention in February 2025 after an Amber Alert was issued for the then-16-year-old girl, who was three months pregnant with Day’s child. She was found safe in Nebraska about two months later, and Day was arrested.

Day was later moved from the Dodge County Jail to the Greene County Detention Center in Paragould, Arkansas, in May, records show.

Details From Plea

According to facts outlined in the federal plea deal, probation agents first found Snapchat messages between Day and the girl in December 2024. The messages showed discussions about sex and Day driving to Wisconsin to pick her up and take her back to Arkansas.

Agents later found the girl at a gas station in Austin, Arkansas, and she told an interviewer that she and Day were boyfriend and girlfriend and had sex. A search of Day’s phone also turned up child sexual abuse material from the period when the girl was in Arkansas.

Next Court Steps

Federal records note that Day had earlier been convicted in Arkansas in 2020 in a child welfare case and received six years of probation. The plea filing also says he failed to report for supervision in February 2025 after his ankle monitor lost power and agents could not reach him.

Day’s sentencing in the federal case has not been scheduled, while the Dodge County charges remain pending in Wisconsin.
